Publication charges help cover the cost of publishing and disseminating research results. They should be regarded as an essential part of an author’s research budget. In order to avoid overburdening authors or their supporting institutions AMS uses a hybrid model for most journals where the costs of processing and publishing articles are covered in part by author charges and in part by reader subscriptions.
UK corresponding authors: Check the list below to confirm if your institution has a Read-and-Publish agreement with AMS Publications. Under these agreements, your institution has paid one fee for all publishing costs and subscription access from 1 January 2023 through December 31 2024.
BAMS Authors! Please consult BAMS Page Charges. The page charge structure of BAMS differs significantly from the page charge structure of the technical journals.

Waivers of Page Charges
AMS has a limited budget for waivers. Authors must demonstrate a legitimate lack of funding to cover charges. Waivers must be requested during initial submission. Note that the cost of processing color figures, which is included in the cost of page charges for authors who pay in full, cannot be waived. Authors receiving full waivers must convert all color files to black and white. Authors receiving partial waivers must cover the processing cost for any color figures at the rate of $490 for the first file, $390 for the second file, and $150 for the third and subsequent files. For more information on the AMS waiver program and to request a waiver, see Page Charge Waivers.
