Child Care Grants

The American Meteorological Society is offering child care grants of up to $250 per family to assist conference attendees who will incur additional expenses by attending the meeting. Limited funds are available and preference is given to applicants in the early stages of their career. As a secondary criterion, preference will be given to applicants who explain clearly why a grant to support childcare, dependent care or their own assistance is necessary. To apply, please fill in this form by 25 June 2026. Recipients will be notified by 2 July 2026. Reimbursement distribution will take place after the meeting.

Registration Assistance

In keeping with our goal to ensure that anyone who wants to participate in an AMS Meeting can do so - the AMS supports a program to provide financial support for complementary and reduced registration fees. There is a limited amount of funding available for this program. Those who can show financial need and/or are from professional groups that would typically not receive funding from their home institution to attend an AMS Meeting will be considered. This financial support covers reduced or complimentary registration fees, it does not cover travel or lodging. 
    
To apply, please fill out this form by 25 June 2026. Applicants will receive news of acceptance/rejection 1 week after the application deadline and must register by the Early Registration Deadline. If you apply for assistance, please do not register until you hear back from AMS.
