Registration Policies

General Registration Policies
  • All attendees must be registered to attend the conference. 
  • Everyone presenting (both oral and poster) and/or attending the 37th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology must register. 
  • Registration must be completed online. A free AMS account is required to access the platform. An AMS membership is not required to register.
    • If you do not have an account, click here to make one. 
  • There will be no onsite registration available.  Registration must be completed online in advance of arriving at the meeting.
  • All registration deadlines will go into effect at 5:00 PM Eastern.
Registration Rates Information and Deadlines
  • Early registration rates are valid through Tuesday, 17 February 2026 at 5:00 PM Eastern.
  • Please note that an individual must have a 2026 AMS membership to receive a Member registration rate.
Payment Policies
  • All payments must be made in full in order to attend this meeting. 
  • Accepted forms of payment: check, purchase order (hard copy required) or credit card (MasterCard/VISA/American Express). 
  • All unpaid registrations will be canceled if payment is not received by 11 March 2026 at 5:00 PM Eastern. 
  • From 11 March 2026 at 5:01 PM Eastern through the end of the meeting, payment for registrations will be accepted by credit card only and must be completed online by the attendee using their AMS login. No exceptions will be granted.
Changes, Cancellations and Refunds
  • Cancellations
    • Those registered may cancel their registration up until and through 11 March 2026 at 5:00 PM Eastern. Refunds (less a $50 processing fee) will be granted. After 11 March at 5:01 PM Eastern, no refunds will be granted for canceled registrations
    • Please email [email protected] to request a cancellation. 
  • Changing Attendance Method
    • If you'd like to change your attendance type, please email [email protected]. The deadline to switch from virtual to hybrid attendance is 11 March at 5:00 PM Eastern. Please be aware that switching from virtual to hybrid registration will incur a $50 processing fee, in addition to the fee difference, regardless of the date of requested change. 
Abstract Fees
  • The $120 abstract fee is separate from the registration fee. Only completing payment for an abstract does not provide access to attend the meeting hybrid or virtually. Please note that the abstract fee of $120 is refundable only if the abstract is NOT accepted. 
Conduct and Commitment to Care
Guest Registration Information
  • If you are participating in the event as a hybrid attendee, you are allowed to bring up to two guests. Guest badges are $50 each and can be purchased during registration.
  • Guests are strictly prohibited from joining you for sessions. They may only attend functions open to all attendees, such as coffee breaks and receptions.
    • To attend a ticketed event (such as the Marks Symposium Luncheon), you will need to purchase additional ticket(s). 
  • Guest badges are not available if you are attending remotely.
Child/Minor Policy
  • Child/Minor Guest Attendee Policy: We warmly welcome children at AMS meetings! To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, please note the following guidelines:
    • All attendees, including guests and children, are expected to follow the Professional and Respectful Conduct at AMS Meetings policy.
    • Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver at all times while in the AMS meeting space. Additionally, a waiver must be on file for each child. Please send completed waivers to AMS Meetings at [email protected].
    • Please note that each child attending the AMS Meeting must be registered as a guest and obtain a badge for entry into the meeting space. For more information about badges for children/minors, please contact AMS Meetings at [email protected].
    • For those who need assistance, AMS provides childcare grants. More information can be found here.
    • While we do not offer onsite childcare, we encourage you to explore available resources at your hotel.
