Dr. Kristie Franz is Professor and Chair of the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences at Iowa State University. Her research focuses on advancing hydrologic models and forecast systems for short to long-term prediction. Her work also includes improving the understanding of climate and land use impacts on watershed processes. She became incoming AMS STAC Commissioner in 2021 and current in 2023.
Clark Evans is professor of Atmospheric Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He joined as incoming commissioner in 2023. His research group uses numerical models to better understand and improve our ability to predict high-impact weather events like hurricanes and severe thunderstorms.
Ankur Desai is Professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His lab studies interactions of ecosystems with climate using long term in situ field experiments and numerical modeling. He became incoming AMS STAC incoming commissioner in 2019, current commissioner in 2021, and past commissioner in 2023. Previously, Desai has served as chair of the American Meteorological Society STAC on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology and editor of Journal of Geophysical Research-Biogeosciences.
