The committees that compose the STAC Commission are made up of hundreds of volunteers primarily from the membership of the Society who work to further the dissemination of knowledge in the specific subject areas covered by each committee. The primary means of accomplishing this is through the organization of specialized conferences that offer an opportunity for scientists and technologists to present their findings to, and interact with, others working in their area of specialization.
The mission of the committee is to promote the exchange and archiving of knowledge in air-sea interaction.
The mission of this committee is to serve the Society by helping to ensure that advances in meteorology and related technology are applied to the research and development and operational activities of the aviation, range, and aerospace communities.
