The NSF-sponsored International Research Experience for Students (IRES) Advanced Study Institute - Field Studies of Convection in Argentina (ASI-FSCA) program is a 21-day program from 30 October - 19 November 2018. It will provide an opportunity for U.S. graduate students to participate in an international research and educational experience during the RELAMPAGO (Remote sensing of Electrification, Lightning, And Mesoscale/microscale Processes with Adaptive Ground Observations) field campaign in Cordoba, Argentina in Fall 2018.
Run by the Division of Marine and Large Programs, Lamont–Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University, STEMSEAS aims to provide ship-based, 6–10 day exploratory experiences for undergraduates from diverse backgrounds aboard NSF-funded research vessels. Students will sail with experienced faculty mentors and engage in geoscience and oceanography activities (while also having fun)! Find out more, including a schedule of programs, and apply at http://mlp.ldeo.columbia.edu/stemseas/.
As a mentor, you will be paired with a high school student whom you will check-in with weekly through text, phone or email. During these check-ins, using our grade-level timelines, you can guide your mentee step-by-step through the college process. Your support will ensure your mentee reaches their college dreams!
