The Committee on Meteorological Aspects of Air Pollution (CMAAP) is part of the American Meteorological Society’s Scientific and Technological Activities Commission (STAC). CMAAP is dedicated to advancing the understanding of air pollution through the lens of meteorology, with a focus on multi-scale meteorological and atmospheric chemistry modeling, urban and regional air quality monitoring and forecasting, health impact assessments, and the integration of modeling, observational, and data-driven approaches to address air quality challenges in complex environments.
Every other year, CMAAP co-organizes the AMS Conference on Meteorological Aspects of Air Pollution with the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA), held as part of the AMS Annual Meeting. We welcome session proposals and abstract submissions from the broader air pollution research and practitioner community. The biannual conference also provides a platform for student researchers to share their work and be recognized through competitive student oral and poster presentation awards.
