Andy Miller is a policy fellow with the policy office of the American Meteorological Society. He has led studies on the use of forecasts for water resource management and the future of work in weather, water, and climate science. Other contributions include work on community resilience and local efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Andy is currently working on science policy issues related to the Arctic.
Andy has represented AMS at a number of events including meetings to improve cross-sector collaboration worldwide in the US and Singapore. He is a member of the board of directors at the Renewable Natural Resources Foundation.
Andy joined AMS after graduating from MIT with a PhD in atmospheric science in the summer of 2017. His thesis focused on troposphere-stratosphere interactions. Born and raised in Germany, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Hamburg while working at the Max-Planck Institute for Meteorology.
