Following the Project Ocean course, teachers conduct required peer training sessions using single topic teaching materials developed by AMS specifically for this purpose. These peer-led training sessions are offered on a variety of oceanography topics. The modules are directly connected to Project Ocean Understandings, a summary document for fundamental knowledge about physical oceanography.
Some modules are enhanced by the usage of auxiliary materials (e.g. pressure blocks). Project Ocean alumni are provided a supply of these materials (30 units) on a one-time basis. To acquire these auxiliary materials, please email Diem Tran at [email protected] at least 2 weeks prior to your workshop; we do not do overnight shipping. Please include your home/shipping address and the date of your workshop in your message when requesting materials. If you don't receive an email with a tracking number for your materials, please email Diem promptly; don't wait until a few days before your workshop.
For Project Ocean alumni, complete this Google Form each time a peer-training session is held (this provides AMS with valuable information about your session).
