We anticipate that a limited number of early-career scientists will be awarded full financial support based on a national competition. This funding has historically come from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Those interested in applying for funding must submit an application by February 7, 2027.
Early career-professionals may also consider applying for the Hooke Fellowship in Policy and Leadership.
Those competing for support must submit (1) a letter of intent, (2) a curriculum vitae, and (3) two letters of reference. To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled in a U.S. institution or university and members of the American Meteorological Society. Student membership is sufficient for this requirement. Applicants for funding may also be in the process of applying for AMS membership at the time they submit their Colloquium applications.
If you are applying for funding, you do not need to complete the online registration form.
To apply, register or login with AMS Apply (apply.ametsoc.org) and search for "AMS Science Policy Colloquium Support" in the program list or click the button below.
