AMS made the announcement that we will be moving all of the oral and poster sessions, panel discussions, and exhibits to a virtual platform for the 101st Annual Meeting. For the first time will be scheduling virtual short courses separately throughout the months following January. (Feb-April) as they will serve as a post-meeting supplement. While many details are still being worked out, we are excited about the opportunities that come along with this new format. We hope that this will allow even more participation, networking and engagement from our global weather, water and climate community.
We recognize that a virtual format for Short Courses can be largely different from that of an in-person meeting workshop. Please know that we are in the process of researching and strategizing contingency options.
Please be sure to indicate whether your course is conducive to a virtual environment by completing this brief poll by 3 August (If you have not done so already). We will be back in touch with details on the new opportunities the virtual format will offer to all of you.The 101st Annual Meeting and short course pages will be updated regularly as more information becomes available as well.
As we enter into this new virtual world of meetings and exhibits, we welcome any suggestions or comments you might have. Please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and ideas with us. Thank you for your support of the AMS and our meetings and short course programs.
