Course Description:

Participants will learn to independently run and interpret AI-based weather prediction models using cloud computing resources. By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Configure and connect to AWS cloud computing resources
  2. Install and set up required AI weather prediction packages and dependencies
  3. Execute different AIWP models (FourCastNetv2, Pangu-Weather, GraphCast)
  4. Convert model outputs from GRIB to NetCDF format for analysis 5. Create professional weather visualization products using Python

Participants will leave this course with a comprehensive set of practical skills and knowledge that can be immediately applied to implement AI-based weather prediction systems using AWS infrastructure. They will gain hands-on experience in setting up and configuring AWS SageMaker for weather prediction models, understanding how to efficiently manage data pipelines for meteorological data, and mastering the deployment of models in production environments. The course provides concrete understanding of cost optimization strategies, enabling participants to make informed decisions about resource allocation and scaling.
