President's Letter November 2006 |
Dear Members,
I'm pleased to announce that our official chapter website is up and running! This will be your go to place to get all your chapter information, including meeting information, latest chapter events, forecast contest updates, and scholarship applications. Lisa Reed, our chapter Secretary, has done an outstanding job on the web design and has put in countless hours in working with the National AMS to get our site on their server. Thanks to Lisa, we now have our website back! If there are things you would like to contribute to the website, please let one of the executive members know. We are currently looking for papers and presentations to add to the website.
The Christmas dinner has been set. We are going to meet at Villa Nova Restaurant at 6pm on Thursday, December 7th. George, the owner of this quaint and charming restaurant, has graciously given us one side of the restaurant and will allow us to order from the menu...at no extra cost to us! For those of you who have eaten at Villa Nova, you know that the menu has a lot to offer at reasonable prices. The food is phenomenal! They even have a guitar player who plays inviting and soothing music that makes the dining experience complete. I need to let George know how many people to expect. Therefore, please let me know no later than Friday, December 1st if you plan on attending. We will also be continuing our chapter tradition of bringing toys for the Toys for Tots program. If you bring a toy to the dinner, the chapter will pay for your dessert (one dessert per toy). Just a reminder, the toy must be new and/or in its original package. Please join the chapter for a fun-filled evening of food and conversation!
