Haider Taha, an active AMS Member, is President and Scientist at Altostratus Inc in Martinez, California. Dr Taha has over 20 years of experience in atmospheric modeling and research. In 2003, he started Altostratus Inc and in 2004 was appointed Adjunct Professor in the Department of Meteorology at San Jose State University. Prior to that, he was a Staff Scientist (1992-2003) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory following a 2-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship appointment, also at LBNL. His expertise is in multi-scale meteorological, emissions, and photochemical / air-quality modeling, development of new urban parameterizations for fine-resolution meteorological and dispersion modeling, and fine-resolution urban air-quality forecasting. Dr Taha has published over 150 peer-reviewed scientific papers, technical reports, and conference proceedings in these areas. In 2010 he was awarded the American Meteorological Society's Editor's Award for the Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology.
