Ellen Klicka is a contractor for communications strategy, media relations, marketing, and social media with the American Meteorological Society's Policy Program in Washington, D.C. Her interests in the energy sector include the nexus of weather and the U.S. electrical grid with respect to demand side management. Ms. Klicka provides project management assistance to the AMS Commission on the Weather and Climate Enterprise Subcommittee on Renewable Energy. Also, she has supported the AMS Policy Program workshop series, including Earth Observations, Science, and Services for the 21st Century. Ms. Klicka has an MBA degree in energy management and policy from the George Washington University and a BS degree in brain and cognitive sciences from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before earning her MBA degree, Ms. Klicka held several corporate communications and public relations management positions in the private sector. Most recently, she was public relations manager for a division of Thomson Reuters that manufactures enterprise software for the legal profession. At Thomson Reuters, she positioned the company as an industry leader and advised senior management on communications strategy. Previously, Ms. Klicka was a senior account executive at The Bohle Company, where she led public relations teams and served clients in the high-tech, consumer electronics, pharmaceutical, and video game industries. She also served as an account representative at Virtual Inc., a marketing services and trade association management agency for the technology sector.
