Jill Hardy, an AMS Member, is a second-year Graduate Research Assistant in the School of Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She is also an Associate of the National Severe Storms Laboratory in Norman. Ms Hardy has a BS degree in geological sciences from the University of Southern California. She is a NSF Graduate Fellow researching flash flood forecasting under the co-advisement of Dr. Jonathan J. Gourley (NSSL) and Dr. Yang Hong (OU). Ms Hardy won an award for Outstanding Student Poster Presenter at the 2011 AMS Annual Meeting in Seattle, where she presented her work from the NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship Program. She plans to present her current graduate work at the 2013 AMS Annual Meeting in Austin.
