The 19th Conference on Applied Climatology is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Applied Climatology. The AMS Conference on Climate Adaptation is sponsored by the AMS and organized by the AMS Board on Societal Impacts. These conferences will be held at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel, Asheville, NC, 18-20 July, 2011.  These conferences are offered jointly with the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Association of State Climatologists.

ACCOMMODATIONS
All meeting sessions for the conferences will be held at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel, 31 Woodfin Street, Asheville, NC 28801. A block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel for meeting attendees at a special rate of: $129.00

Guest Room Rates
Standard/Double Rooms $129.00 plus applicable taxes.
To receive this special rate, attendees must request a room under the American Meteorological Society room block. Reservations must be made prior to 13 June, 2011, and will require a credit card and a deposit for one room night. Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. Attendees may call toll-free at 1-800-266-9432 to make reservations. Federal per diem rates are available (on a limited basis), upon request, to Federal employees when making reservations. Please call 1-800-266-9432 to receive the per diem rate.

General Information

Reservations made after that date are on a space available basis and at the hotel’s prevailing rates. Subject to room availability, these special rates will be available the weekends before and after the conference. The Federal per diem rate is not available over the weekend. We urge you to make reservations early since space is limited.

REGISTRATION FORMS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL OR FAX THROUGH 20 JUNE. AFTER THIS DATE YOU MUST REGISTER ON-LINE OR ON- SITE.
3) On-site registration: The AMS registration desk at the Renaissance will be open for registration on Sunday, 17 July from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and Monday-Wednesday during the hours of the conference.

Registrants may choose the Full-Week Registration Package or the One-Day Registration Package. The Full-Week package includes admission to all conferences, coffee breaks, poster reception, and Wednesday’s luncheon. The One-Day package includes your badge, a program, and admission to all sessions and coffee breaks for one calendar day.

Additional tickets to Wednesday’s luncheon may be purchased for $35 until 13 July. 

Wednesday’s Luncheon
A joint luncheon will be held with the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Association of State Climatologists (AASC) on 20 July.  This is included in with your registration. Extra tickets may be purchased for $35.00. Tickets will be sold until 13 July.  If attending only the 36th AACC Annual Meeting, tickets will be sold separately from registration. Fill out the AASC Luncheon Ticket Form located on the left side toolbar of the webpage and fax to 617-249-0272 no later than 13 July.

I-240 East: Take Exit 5A (Merrimon Avenue). Turn left at the light then left on Woodfin Street. Go 2 blocks, the hotel is on the right.I-240 West: Take Exit 5A (Merrimon Avenue); left onto Merrimon. Turn left at the second light onto Woodfin Street. Go 2 blocks, the hotel is on the right.

This hotel does not provide shuttle service.
