BAMS—Online, from the Beginning: Be Part of the Legacy

As we approach our centennial year, we are working to digitize every page of every issue of our flagship journal, the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, from the last 100 years, and make them available for free through Journals Online.

To date, we have made available all issues from 2010 back to 1944.

The last 24 years of the project (from 1943 to issue #1 in 1920) are to be completed in the coming months.

This is a huge undertaking, requiring significant resources, and we need your support.

Help us preserve the history of our science, making it free, open, and accessible to the world by sponsoring a single issue or whole volume year.

Individuals and organizations that sponsor issues or volumes will receive permanent acknowledgement in the online presentation of all articles and other content from that issue or volume year (in the form: “This issue is supported by a generous donation from...”).

Acknowledgements can also be done in memory of a colleague, a friend, or a loved one.

These permanent acknowledgments are secured on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to no more than two sponsors for each issue and for each volume year. If you want to choose a particular issue or volume year (the month of your birth, when you received your degree, when you published an article in BAMS, etc.), you should act soon.

Sponsorship of a specific issue entails a (tax deductible) donation of $500; an entire volume year is $5,000.
