Organizers

The 47th Conference on Broadcast Meteorology was organized by the Board on Broadcast Meteorology and hosted by the American Meteorological Society. The Fifth Conference on Weather Warnings and Communication was organized by the Board on Societal Impacts and the Committee on Severe Local Storms and hosted by the American Meteorological Society.

  FULL-WEEK PACKAGE
The full-week package includes admission to all sessions, exhibits, breakfasts, coffee breaks, ice breaker reception, and one ticket to Thursday's Lunch.
ONE-DAY PACKAGE
The one-day package includes for one calendar day admission to all sessions, exhibits, breakfast and coffee breaks for one day. The Thursday Lunch is NOT included.

Conference Field Trip to Scripps

Tuesday, 11 June from 5:30-7:30pm 

A ticket was needed to attend the Tuesday Field trip and tour to the Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. The tour was 60 minutes and transportation was provided. $25 tickets were available for purchase when registering.

Buses boarded 5:15:-5:30 PM at the east entrance.

Conference Luncheon

Thursday, June 13, 12:00–1:30pm

A ticket was needed to attend the Thursday Luncheon. One ticket to the 47th Conference on Broadcast Meteorology/Fifth Conference on Weather Warnings and Communication Luncheon was included in the full-week registration package. The Luncheon took place in the Exhibit Hall (Rio Vista Salon D-F). 

Conference Outing

Thursday, 13 June from 7:00-10:00pm

A ticket was needed to attend the Thursday Outing which took place at Café Coyote located in the Heart of Historic Old Town San Diego. Tickets were priced at $40 per person.  Ticket included food, 1 drink ticket, and transportation to and from the hotel to the event. Children's tickets were also available at $20 per person (Age 12 & under only).

Buses departed the hotel at 6:30pm. 

Special Needs

It is the Society's sincere desire to comply fully with both the letter and the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.  Attendees with special needs at the conference should check with the AMS Meetings Department (617) 226-3916, four–six weeks prior to the meeting to request special arrangements.  Special housing needs should be requested when making hotel reservations.
