Please note that each time slot has limited space available.  All tours will take place the afternoon of Wednesday, September 16th.  Shuttles will be available to and from each location.

*Foreign nationals that sign up for the National Weather Center tour or the Radar Operations Center/ National Weather Radar Testbed tour must fill out and return this form by September 9th

US citizens and permanent residents need not complete the NWC Foreign National Visitor Form.

 

OU Bizzell Library- Red Bus/Shuttle

  • Bizzell Memorial Library was built in 1929 and later named for William Bennett Bizzell, the University's fifth president. It is located in the heart of the Norman campus. The state's largest library contains more than 2.6 million volumes, more than 16,000 periodicals and distinguished special collections such as the Harry W. Bass Collection in Business History, the Bizzell Bible Collection, and the History of Science Collections, which is one of the largest collections of rare scientific books and documents in the United States. Radar Innovations Lab- Purple Bus/Shuttle

  • The new Radar Innovations Laboratory (RIL) of the Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) is on the University of Oklahoma’s (OU) Research Campus next to the National Weather Center (NWC), and is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing OU’s radar research and education. ARRC is dedicated to placing a premium on creative thinking and collaboration among faculty, students, and external partners; innovating the next generation of radar, microwave electronics and related technologies. The RIL is a destination showcase for both researchers and the public, serving as a facility for performing world-class research, educating the next generation, and demonstrating the practical value of both to the citizens of Oklahoma and the Nation. National Weather Center- Blue Bus/Shuttle

  • The National Weather Center (NWC) is comprised of multiple agencies from the federal, state and local levels, combined with academic entities and research and development partners. These organizations work together in partnership to improve understanding of events occurring in Earth’s atmosphere over a wide range of time and space scales. The National Weather Center houses approximately 550 people including research scientists, operational meteorologists and climatologists, engineers, technicians support staff, and graduate and undergraduate students.
