Postponement of the 34AgForest/5BioGeo

Dear colleagues,

Thank you for your patience and understanding while AMS leadership closely monitors the situation related to the respiratory disease known as “the coronavirus disease 2019” or “COVID-19” and its effects on our meetings and events.  We had been hopeful that we could hold the 34th Conference on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology/Fifth Conference on Atmospheric Biogeosciences in June. However, following the CDC’s current recommendation against holding gatherings larger than 10 people in the US for the next number of weeks, we must change our plans. Thus, after much deliberation, we have made the decision to reschedule the 34th Conference on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology/Fifth Conference on Atmospheric Biogeosciences to 21-23 June 2021. The location and technical program structure will remain the same. While this may be disappointing to many of you who were looking forward to the meeting this year, we hope you understand that we made this decision with the best interest for the health and safety of our community in mind.

We urge those who were planning to fly to Minneapolis for the conference to reach out to their airlines as soon as possible. Many, if not all, airlines are waiving change and cancel fees for existing reservations. New hotel information, along with registration will be available early spring of 2021.

Oral and poster presentations will remain accepted. Acceptance emails that include presentation date and time will be sent shortly. In the meantime, the program for the conference can be found here: https://ams.confex.com/ams/34AF5BG/meetingapp.cgi. AMS will refund abstract fees for anyone who was accepted into the program but cannot present during the 2021 dates. You also have the opportunity to request an update to your abstract content if required (subject to approval by session/program chairs).

Thank you to everyone who helped us formulate an alternative plan where we can still hold the 34th Conference on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology/Fifth Conference on Atmospheric Biogeosciences and we look forward to seeing many of you next June.
