Student Opportunities

Student Assistant

Volunteer students are needed for registration and audio/visual support during the conference. Student volunteers are required to be in attendance the entire conference, and be available to work 1/2 each day from Sunday through Friday. The students will work either the first or second shift (i.e., morning or afternoon). For volunteering, the student will get their registration fee waived and $25.00 per day for food allowance. This program is a first come, first served basis. A limited number of students will be needed for the conference. Award Opportunities

24th Symposium on Boundary Layers and Turbulence Presentation Awards 

The Boundary Layers and Turbulence Program Committee of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) is proud to award 8 Best Student Prizes (four poster awards and four oral presentation awards) at the 24th Symposium on Boundary Layers and Turbulence held 13-17 July 2020 in Šibenik, Croatia. These awards recognize outstanding student contributions based on an evaluation of the oral or poster presentation.

Students are asked at the time of the abstract submission if they want to be considered for such awards.  

24th Symposium on Boundary Layers and Turbulence Travel Awards 

The Boundary Layers and Turbulence Program Committee of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) is offering two student travel awards of $400 each to help supplement travel expenses. To be eligible for a travel award, the students who want to be considered for travel support will be asked to note this when submitting their abstract, and are asked to submit a note of justification for funds and provide a letter of support from their primary advisor. To apply, please send your justification  and letter of support for funds to the conference chairpersons by 6th April 2020.
