Commitment to Care Statement

20th Conference on Mountain Meteorology

27 June - 1st July, 2022

Park City, UT

Updated on 5/18/2022

As AMS plans for the 20th Conference on Mountain Meteorology, we continue to monitor and keep track of the ongoing Covid situation. We are prioritizing the safety of presenters, attendees, program chairs, staff, and any volunteers who plan to attend in-person.

We are closely monitoring news and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and local health agencies regarding travel and events.

We recommend that you check back here on any recommendations and guidance for our in-person event. This Commitment to Care will be adjusted as needed due to any updates and news regarding the impact of COVID-19, CDC guidance or emergence of new variants.

It is our expectation that all in-person attendees at this meeting are up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations as defined by the CDC.

More information on the vaccination policy will be available soon.

Masks will be required at this meeting.

Speakers can remove their masks if they are able to keep a 6-foot distance from others.

  • Hand Sanitizer: There are multiple hand sanitizing stations located throughout the AMS Meeting space.
  • Our Hotel: Marriott Commitment to Clean can be found here.

Touch Points

  • Registration and badge pickup will take place at self-serve kiosks. Attendees will print their own badges on-demand in the registration area at Silver Mine B.

Poster Sessions

We have increased the aisles of posters to allow for more social distancing. We have asked poster presenters to make their posters no larger than 4'x6' to allow more space between presenters.

Food and Beverage

During food functions or whenever you are eating or drinking, we ask that you remain stationary and put your mask back on when you are finished.

Symptoms and Health Survey

In-person attendees who feel ill or experience any symptoms of COVID-19 before or during the meeting should not enter the AMS Meeting until the symptoms have resolved.

While we do not require that participants submit a negative Covid-19 test result in order to attend this meeting, all travelers should follow recommendations set for by the CDC for domestic and international travel as well as check requirements set forth by their travel providers (planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation).
