Atmospheric Moisture Distribution, Total Precipitable Water and Convective Stability

Monday, 6 August, 1:30-4:00pm

Enrollment limited to 30 people.

Instructor: Scott Lindstrom, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS)

How can you use GOES-16 data and products to determine moisture distribution in the atmosphere?  This session revealed how GOES-16 views moisture in the atmosphere, and which products are created to convert satellite observations of radiance to products such as total precipitable water and convective stability indices.  Included in this session were short interactive exercises and instructions on where these derived products can be found.
