AMS engages the policy process in relatively unusual, principled, and highly effective ways. We inform the policy process and work with all parties in the advancement and use of science, irrespective of political viewpoint. We actively seek out all who make good-faith efforts to advance and use science. The latter has made AMS particularly effective when defending science from attack (which we do forcefully) by providing a strong and unassailable foundation of science from which we stage our engagement.
