Booth Number(S): 200

At the 41st AMS Conference on Broadcast Meteorology, Baron will be showing a host of new data and display technologies in Booth 200.

Dual-Pol Storm Tracking
Developing new and accurate data products based off of the NEXRAD dual-pol upgrade has been at the forefront of Baron research and development this year. The Resampled Dual-pol Shear Rate creates accurate and clear depictions of wind shear particularly during tornadic events, while the TDS Swath creates a likely storm path based on the tornadic debris signatures. Resampled Level II Base Variables take the base dual-pol products, and make them broadcast-ready.

News and Weather Apps for Mobile and Tablets
The iOS and Android-compatible app platform will be the basis for distributing station-branded news and weather content to smart phone and tablet users. The capabilities and features of your chosen implementation will be fully customizable with your content and brand.

  • Live Radar and NEXRAD display
  • Station blogs and RSS feed aggregation from your website
  • Social sharing
  • Current weather conditions and forecasts
  • NWS alerts displayed on the map & communicated via push notifications
  • User-generated content through social media

Omni 4.0 Software Release
The next free software update for Omni will expand the system’s graphical and meteorological capabilities even further, with reactive shadows, reflective ocean layers and clouds moving over the sky dome. This upgrade will also include support for all the new dual-pol radar products, expand the lightning and earthquake tools, and make more data products available for display in the volumetric imager.

VIPIR Touch Screen
The popular VIPIR system has made the move to large-format touch screens, providing a uniquely powerful presentation and customized usability. Track storms and control the map with a simple, touch-friendly interface.

Insight Weather Data Package
Further expanding our weather data offerings, Baron has developed a new package that covers hurricanes, droughts, wildfires and more. The Insight Package is a complement to our existing data feeds, expanding your potential for accurate forecasting of extreme weather conditions throughout the year. There will be a special announcement about this new offer during AMS Broadcast.
