After selecting a state by clicking the mouse pointer on its postal identity code from the selection table, the following sample display of selected weather conditions for the reporting stations in that state is given.

The tabular set of weather conditions at the stations [in this example, the state of Colorado (CO)] contains:

A tabular listing of surface data reported for the state (in postal code abbreviation) is given. Hour and date follow the state heading. Tabular column values are:

HH -- hour in Z (UTC) when observation was taken.
STN -- usually three letter coded station identifier, see Surface Weather Stations.
TMP -- temperature in degrees Fahrenheit.
DWP -- dewpoint in degrees Fahrenheit.
DIR -- compass wind direction in tens of degrees from true North, a north wind (from the north) is 36, east 9, calm 0
SPD -- wind speed in knots (nautical miles per hour).
GST -- maximum speed of brief wind gusts in knots.
Cloud coverage information divided into three levels:
CLDL, "low" - up to 5000 feet (1524 m)
CLDM, "middle" - from 5000 to 10,000 ft (3049 m)
CLDH, "high" - above 10,000 ft
- extent of cloud coverage of the sky at the particular level:
  "CLR" - clear, no clouds detected
  "F" - few, 1/8 to 2/8 sky covered at that level (also shown as -S)
  "SCT" - scattered, 3/8 to 4/8 sky covered
  "BKN" - broken, 5/8 to 7/8 covered
  "OVC" - overcast, 8/8 covered
  "X" - obscured, clear base not observed due to fog, haze, etc.
ALT -- aircraft altimeter setting in inches of mercury.
PMSL -- mean sea-level pressure in tenths of millibars.
PTD -- pressure tendency in tenths of millibars, change over the previous 3 hours. Given at 00Z, 03Z, etc. e.g. -1.3, pressure now lower by one and 3/10 of mb.
WTHR -- present weather condition, letter code, if obstruction to visibility, e.g. R for rain, S for snow, I for ice pellets ("sleet").
PCPN -- precipitation (if any) in hundredths of inches, given at 00Z, 03Z, etc.
SNOW -- snowfall (if any) in tenths of inches, given at 00Z, 03Z, etc.
