Since our founding in 1919, AMS has been a leader in promoting and advancing the atmospheric and related sciences, technologies, applications, and services for the benefit of society.
Today we have more than 13,000 individual members in nearly 100 countries, over 175 corporation and institutional members, and thousands more authors, presenters, students, teachers, and others representing all levels of the weather, water, and climate community.
Publish a peer-reviewed article in one of our eleven scientific journals. Present along with several hundred of your colleagues at our annual meeting or one of a dozen specialty meetings. Become certified as a consulting or broadcast meteorologist. Network with your peers through our committees and local chapters.
I believe in what AMS does for our field and the world.
AMS provides the best opportunities for an individual to contribute to the fields progress. I find this to be enormously rewarding both professionally and personally.
AMS has afforded me countless opportunities to network, be involved in boards and committees, and grow as a professional.
Today more than ever, our work is helping bring the water, weather, and climate community together. See what research, data, and peer expertise AMS members have access to.
Corporation and Institutional Membership not only provides tangible benefits such as reduced journal subscription rates and discounts on advertising, but enhances corporate and academic recognition within the scientific community as well.
