The the joint AMOS annual meeting and ICSHMO biennial meeting is organized by the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and hosted by AMOS.
Would you like to get researchers together to discuss a particular scientific topic? Or maybe demonstrate how to use a particular tool, analysis technique or dataset? If so, come and run a workshop at the AMOS – ICSHMO 2018 meeting!
The convenors of the joint AMOS annual meeting and 12th International Conference on Southern Hemisphere Meteorology and Oceanography are calling for expressions of interest from enthusiastic researchers to organise scientific workshops for those attending the event.
Professional development workshops have been proposed and are currently being organized. The Conference will host workshops on:
• Technical skills (Software Carpentry)
• Career paths outside academia
• Science communication
• Science education
We are now looking for a small number of scientific workshops related to the conference theme "Earth System Science and Services” and/or topics relevant to the Southern Hemispheric oceanography and meteorology community.
If you would like to organise a workshop, please send the following information to email@example.com by Friday 5 June 2017:
(a) Scientific area, e.g. cloud physics, regional downscaling, ocean eddies, etc;
(b) Workshop Title;
(c) Convenor(s), specify lead convenor, instructor, panel members, those involved in running the workshop;
(d) Type: how you intend to run this workshop, e.g. Q&A, computer lab, lecture, group exercise, etc;
(e) Detailed description of the event to be posted on the website.
All attendees must register to attend the conference. Registration links will be available on the conference webpage. Registration rates will be announced and opened on 12 June, 2017.
