Information for Certified Consulting Meteorologists

Professional Development

The AMS requires all Certified Consulting Meteorologists (CCMs) to complete a 28 point professional development requirement every five years. Did you know that working in the field, holding an AMS certification, the completion of COMET modules, and attending a science related meeting/conference are a few of the many activities that can earn you professional development points? To make it even easier for you, the AMS has created an online tracking system where you can enter and submit your points. Please see the Professional Development home page for all the resources you need to complete this requirement.

Weather and Climate Service Providers Directory

The CCM program is a service for business, industry, and the general public provided by the American Meteorological Society (AMS). The AMS has established high standards of technical competence, character, and experience for those who seek to provide advice and consultation in meteorology. The principal purpose of the Weather and Climate Service Providers Directory is to enable users of meteorological services to select consultants with greater confidence in the quality and reliability of the products and services they will receive. If you wish to have a listing in the Directory, please contact Kelly Savoie.
