The Hydrologic Sciences Medal

Description

The Hydrologic Sciences Medal is granted to researchers who make outstanding contributions to scientific knowledge in hydrology, hydrometeorology, and/or hydroclimatology, including interactions between the land surface and the atmosphere. It represents the highest award the Society can bestow upon an individual in the hydrologic sciences. The award is in the form of a medallion.

Nominations are considered by the Hydrologic Research Awards Committee, which makes a recommendation for final approval by AMS Council.

Nomination Process

Thank you for your interest in submitting a nomination! AMS membership is not required to submit an award nomination. Nominations are due by 1 May. The nominator is responsible for uploading the entire nomination package.

The nominees for awards remain on the committee's active list for three years.  You will be allowed to update an unsuccessful nomination at the beginning of the next award cycle. 

Requirements

  • citation (25 word maximum)
  • nomination letter (3 page maximum)
  • nominee Curriculum Vitae (2 page maximum)
  • bibliography (3 page maximum)
  • three (3) letters of support (2 page maximum each)

The 2019 Lecturers have been selected by AMS Council. Nominations for the 2020 Lecturers will open in January 2019.
