Andy Miller is a postdoctoral fellow with the policy office of the American Meteorological Society. His main research focuses on local efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In particular, he studies the cities motivations to take action and how they chose to organize themselves. Andy is also interested in the future of public-private partnerships, the global weather enterprise and the relationship of policy and the academic sector.
Andy joined AMS after graduating from MIT with a PhD in atmospheric science in the summer of 2017. His thesis focused on troposphere-stratosphere interactions. Born and raised in Germany, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Hamburg while working at the Max-Planck Institute for Meteorology.
