ORGANIZERS
The 12th Conference on Atmospheric Radiation is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Atmospheric Radiation. The 12th Conference on Cloud Physics is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Cloud Physics. Both conferences will be held 10–14 July 2006 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, Madison, WI.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Best Western Inn on the Park is still available for some reservations. To call (800) 279-8811 and request under the AMS block. If needed may also ask for Mark Brown.
Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. All meeting sessions for the conferences will be held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, One John Nolen Drive, Madison, WI 53703. A block of rooms have been reserved at two local hotels for meeting attendees. A block of rooms have been reserved at the adjacent Hilton Madison Monona Terrace Hotel, 9 East Wilson St., Madison, WI53703, at a special rate of $149.00 single plus tax. To receive the special meeting rate of $149.00, attendees must request a room under the “AMS” block. For reservations, call the hotel directly at (866) 403-8838 or make your reservations online at www.hiltonmadison.com. Another block of rooms have been reserved at the Best Western Inn on the Park, 22 South Carroll St., Madison, WI 53703 at a special rate of $109.00 single/double plus tax. This hotel is located 3 blocks away from the Monona Terrace Center. To receive the special meeting rate of $109.00, attendees must request a room under the “CVB Lead #104303 (American Meteorological Society) Block”. For reservations call the hotel directly at (800) 279-8811 or at (608) 257-8811. Reservations will ONLY be taken over the phone. Reservations at both hotels must be made prior to 26 May and must be accompanied by a onenight deposit. Reservations made after that date will be on a space available basis. We urge you to make reservations early since space is limited.
TRANSPORTATION
There are many options for transportation from the airport to Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center: four on-site car rental companies and one off-site (with pickup service), three taxicab companies with fares averaging $9–$14, or the Madison Metro bus. Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is about a 5-mile (10-minute) drive from the airport.

REGISTRATION
There are now several ways to register for these conferences.
1) On-line Registration. This option is available to AMS Members and non-members who are paying by credit card or purchase order. Please see the AMS homepage, Web address http://www.ametsoc.org/AMS. Select the “Meeting Information” link located at the top of the AMS homepage. Then select the Online Conference Registration and follow the instructions. You can register on-line between now and 3 July. Be sure to register by 26 May for the lowest rates.
2) Download the registration form from AMS homepage. Refer to Web address www.ametsoc.org/AMS. Select the “Meeting Information” link located at the top of the AMS homepage and follow these steps:
a) Select AMS Upcoming Meetings;
b.) Madison Meeting;
c) Download and print the registration form; and
d) Return the completed registration form by fax (617) 742-8718 or mail to: AMS, Madison Meeting., 45 Beacon St., Boston, MA 02108. REGISTRATION FORMS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL OR FAX THROUGH 12 JUNE. AFTER THIS DATE YOU MUST REGISTER ON-LINE OR ON- SITE.
3) On-site registration. The AMS registration desk at the Monona Terrace will be open for registration during the following hours:

REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT PAYMENT. Payment may be

Refunds (less a $25 processing fee) will be granted only for cancellations received before
30 June 2006.
FORMAL POSTER VIEWING & RECEPTIONS
There will be two Formal Poster Viewing & Receptions. The first poster viewing will be
Monday, 10 July 2006, 5:00–7:00 P.M. The second viewing will be Wednesday, 12 July
2006, 5:00–7:00 P.M. Light refreshments will be served.
