2013 AMS Summer Community Meeting

The 2013 AMS Summer Community Meeting is sponsored by UCAR - University Corporation for Atmospheric Research and Joe Friday. It is organized by the AMS Board on Enterprise Communication, a part of the AMS Commission on the Weather and Climate Enterprise. The conference will be held at NCAR Centre Green in Boulder Colorado, 12-16 August, 2013.

Conference Registration Rates

FULL MEETING PACKAGE includes: Your badge (must be worn at all times in the meeting room), a program, and for each of three days: admission to the meeting, a light breakfast, a lunch, and two refreshment breaks. Also included is Tuesday evenings reception and 1 ticket to the dinner banquet on Wednesday evening.
ONE-DAY PACKAGE includes: Your badge (must be worn at all times in the meeting room), a program, and for any one day: admission to the meeting, a light breakfast, a lunch, and two refreshment breaks. [Tickets to the banquet dinner on Wednesday evening must be purchased separately.]

STUDENTS: A limited number of complimentary registrations for AMS Student Members are available thanks to the generosity of Joe Friday and the University Corporation for Atmosphere Research. If you wish to attend the 2013 AMS Summer Community please contact Gary Rasmussen (email: grasmussen@ametsoc.org) to learn how to register without paying. Please note you must be a current AMS Student Member to register for free. But, it is less expensive to become an AMS Student Member than it is to pay the AMS Student Member conference registration fee. If you would like to become an AMS Student Member, you can apply online.

REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT PAYMENT. Payment may be made with check, money order, purchase order, or credit card (MasterCard/VISA/American Express). Checks must be drawn on a U.S. bank and payable in U.S. dollars. Refunds (less a $25 processing fee) will be granted only for cancellations received by Monday, 5 August.

Accommodations

Special Rates have been negotiated for conference attendees at the Courtyard by Marriott Boulder: $139.00 (plus taxes. Reservations must be made prior to 22 July, 2013 and be accompanied by a one-night deposit. A small block of rooms has been reserved at the Residence Inn Boulder, 3030 Center Green Drive, Boulder, CO, 80301 at a rate of $209 for a Studio room. Reservations for can be made directly with Marriott reservations at 1 (800) 331-3131 or online.

Hotel’s room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes (currently 12.4%) in effect at the time of check-out. Reservations must be made prior to Monday August 5th, 2013.

Tuesday Evening Welcome Reception

A reception will be held on Tuesday evening after sessions end.  All registered attendees for the full week and the Tuesday calendar day are invited to attend.

Summer Community Meeting Dinner

On Wednesday evening, a Dinner will be held at the Center Green Building. A reception gathering will start at 6:00pm, followed by dinner at 7:00pm. Additional dinner tickets are $35.
