The 14th Conference on Mountain Meteorology, sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Mountain Meteorology, will be held 30 August–3 September 2010, at the Resort at Squaw Creek, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Lake Tahoe, CA. General information on hotel accommodations and transportation options will be posted soon on the AMS website (http://www.ametsoc.org/meet/).
ACCOMMODATIONS
All meeting sessions for the conferences will be held at the Resort at Squaw Creek, 400
Squaw Creek Road, Olympic Valley, CA 96146.
RESORT AT SQUAW CREEK (Headquarters)

A block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel for meeting attendees at a special rate of:
$145.00/night Deluxe Guestroom single/double; $175.00/night Fireplace Suite; $195.00/
night Deluxe Fireplace Suite for non-government employees. The current government rate
of $104.00/night Deluxe Guestroom single/double is available for government employees
with proper ID. Room rates are quoted exclusive of state and local taxes. The following are
included in the above rates: Wireless in guestrooms, USA Today, Daily Shuttle to/from the
Villiage at Squaw Valley, Unlimited use of Resort’s Health Club Facilities, Summertime
croquet, Pool, and Tennis Court Fees.
To receive these special rates, attendees must request a room under the American Meteorological
Society room block.
Reservations must be made prior to Monday, 26 July 2010, and will require a deposit equal
to the room rate and taxe for the First and last night for each reservation. All credit cards
used to guarantee will be charged entire stay if reservation is canelled less than 14 days prior
to arrival or is a no show. Early departures will be charged for the unused balance of your
stay.

VILLAGE AT SQUAW VALLEY (Great for Students who will be sharing housing)
1750 Village East Road, Olympic Valley, CA 96146
A small block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel for meeting attendees at a special rate
of: $129.00/night One BdRm Suite w/extra den; $189.00/night 2BdRm Suite w/Two Twins;
$239.00/nighth 3BdRm Suite. Room rates are quoted exclusive of 10% occupanct tax, 2%
village tax, and a nightly $10 resort fee (covers high speed internet in all rooms, underground
parking, and fitness center). These rates will be honored two days prior/after the
conference based on avalability
To receive these special rates, attendees must request a room under the American Meteorological
Society--Mountain Meteorology Conf room block.
Reservations must be made prior to Monday, 28 June 2010, and will require a deposit of
one night’s room and tax. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival will forfeit deposit. Early
departures will be charged full stay. Please note if you are sharing a room the hotel is unable
to divide charges. It is the responsibility of the individual who appears on the reservation to
finalize all charges amongst the occupants.

Car Rental: Enterprise is the official rental car agency for this meeting and special rates are
available. Advance reservations may be made on-line at Enterprise.com. Select “Corporate

Shuttle: The Resort at Squaw Creek offers Shuttle transportation for their guests. The AMS
special rate is $50.00 round trip transfer between The Resort at Squaw Creek and Reno/
Tahoe International Airport. This shuttle service is based on reservation ONLY. To make

Society group and make your reservation.
