The Seventh Conference on Coastal Atmospheric and Oceanic Prediction and Processes is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Coastal Environment. The Seventh Conference on the Urban Environment is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Urban Environment. Both conferences will be held 10–13 September 2007 at The Catamaran Resort Hotel, San Diego, CA.
Accommodations
Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. All meeting sessions for the conferences will be held at The Catamaran Resort Hotel, 3999 Mission Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92109. A block of rooms have been reserved at the hotel for meeting attendees at a special rate of $169 single, $189 double plus tax. Government per diem rates are also available to those who qualify. Reservations must be made prior to 9 August and must be accompanied by a one-night deposit. Reservations made after that date will be on a space available basis. Please help AMS keep our rates lower by booking at the Catamaran so we can fulfill our sleeping room obligation to the hotel.
The Catamaran Resort Hotel is located in the heart of San Diego's Mission Bay. The Catamaran's 315 rooms and suites are spacious and tastefully appointed with their own balcony or patio. Each has a king or two double beds and all the amenities you would expect at a world-class resort including large workspace and sitting area, hair dryers, coffee makers, ironing boards and refrigerators. All rooms have ocean, bay, or garden views.
Amenities include: a Business Center offering: faxing, copying, computer and Internet access, outdoor heated swimming pool with Jacuzzi, daily room service, free HBO, guest room modem hookups, a retail gift shop and a state-of-the-art work out facility.
The Catamaran Spa opened June 2005. The Spa, 9,300 square feet in size, and is the only treatment facility in the area large enough to meet the growing demands of hotel guests as well as local residents. The Spa offers ten individual treatment rooms, a Ritual room, a Vichy shower room, and a couples room. Both the men's and women's locker rooms include steam and sauna rooms. In addition, guests may continue their spa experience at home: the Spa will offer many of its products for purchase. The Spa will also offer a full-service salon.
Transportation
The Catamaran Hotel offers 24-hour airport transportation via Cloud 9 shuttle service. Guests receive a special rate of $9 per person (subject to change). Pick up the Catamaran Resort courtesy phone in the luggage area for the operator to advise you on your pick-up location. If you cannot locate a courtesy phone, you may flag down one of the white Cloud 9 shuttle vans.
Directions from San Diego International Airport (7.5 miles, 15 minute drive)
Follow I-9 North and exit Grand Ave./Garnet Ave.
Go to your immediate left lane.
At the first traffic light, take a left on Grand Ave.
At Mission Blvd. (last road before the ocean), make a left.
The hotel is 4 blocks down on the left (corner of Mission Blvd. & Pacific Beach Drive)
