7th Annual WeatherFest

The American Meteorological Society’s WeatherFest is an interactive four-hour science and weather fair. This extraordinary event is designed to promote science and mathematic literacy and well as weather safety through an understanding of meteorology and oceanography.

Throughout the afternoon, teachers and scientists from across the United States and from the local area will conduct lots of hands-on demonstrations to teach visitors about the fundamental workings of the atmosphere, the weather and climate, and marine environment.

The mission of WeatherFest is to instill a love for math and science in children of all ages and to spark a young person’s interest in this area so they may consider a career in these and other science and engineering fields. Last year more than 2800 visitors took part in WeatherFest. We hope you will be part of this great AMS outreach opportunity.
