THE GEONOR PRECIPITATION GAUGE FOR SNOW & RAIN
GEONOR T-200B series weighing bucket precipitation gauges are in use by leading meteorological services including NOAA, Climate Reference Network, National Weather Service, National Center for Atmospheric Research, NASA, Environment Canada, The Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic Meteorological Services, Canadian Provincial Agriculture Agencies and others.
Developed over 20 years ago by the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) to provide accurate snow measurements for avalanche predictions, the T-200B series gages now include the 600-mm, 1000-mm & 1500-mm capacity models, and optional heaters. We offer high-level technical support for start-up, service and data evaluation from our service centers in the USA and Norway.
The gauge weighs precipitation as often as once every few seconds using a GEONOR vibrating-wire load cell. This technology, developed by our parent research group NGI, provides the smallest errors obtainable with long-term stability, and minimal temperature effects. Errors are less than 0.1% of full range.

Ultrasound Anemometer - SODAR /RASS - Micro Rain Radar - Cloud Radar
These products make METEK GmbH one of the leading manufacturers of ground based remote sensing equipment. Experience since 1989 and a well trained staff of technicians and scientists have given to the company a solid basis for best customer support on installation, training, measuring and maintenance.
Profiles of wind components (SODAR), temperature (SODAR/RASS) and local wind and turbulence information (Ultrasonic anemometer) are for example important parameters for investigation on dispersion of air pollutants. METEK systems are important parts of international measuring campaigns like BERLIOZ or ESCOMPTE. Also local campaigns on city climate are part of the comprehensive service for customers.
The Micro Rain Radar (MMR-2) offers information on Bright Band altitude and profiles of several precipitation parameters. This offers opportunities for the improvement of forecasts and the calibration of horizontal scanning weather radars (measurement at the altitude of the weather radar beam).
METEK products work with high reliability worldwide on scientific and governmental facilities. International weather services, power plants and airports know the quality delivered by METEK GmbH. |
