Minutes of the October 26, 1998 Meeting
Smoky Mountain AMS Chapter
Our first meeting was a resounding success. It was held in Hollingsworth Auditorium on the Agriculture Campus of the University of Tennessee. We had about 30 participants representing a large number of organizations such as:
- Local TV stations such as WBIR and WATE
- State Climatology Program, TVA
- Carbon Dioxide Information and Analysis Center, ORNL
- National Weather Service
- The University of Tennessee
- Private consultants
- NOAA Atmosphere Turbulence and Diffusion Division
- Environmental Sciences Division, ORNL
- Smoky Mountain Soaring Association
We discussed a number of issues such as best meeting times and places, election of offices, purpose of organization, and possible goals and projects.
