1st annual AMS student chapter hike

The 1st annual Reno-Lake Tahoe AMS Student Chapter hike was held on Saturday, April 19, 2008. The group met on the southwest edge of Reno and hiked up the Hunter Creek Trail a few miles to an isolated waterfall. The weather was excellent with clear skies and mild temperatures, and while a strong windstorm developed in Reno, the narrow valley was very sheltered (although a few gusts did manage to break through). The terrain was rugged in places, but not enough to keep everyone from having a great time. Remember, it's never too early to suggest a location for the 2nd annual hike in 2009!
