The next meeting will be held at the
Columbia National Weather Service office on Thursday, September 11 at 6 pm.
We'll tour the facility and get an update on all the latest tools, technology
and happenings at the Weather Service, which is located in West Columbia (see

undetermined eatery on the west side of the Columbia area. Hope to see you
there.

PAMS Shirts
There are 8 shirts remaining: 2 M, 4 XL and 2 XXL.
The cost is $23.10 for M and XL, and $25.20 for XXL (prices include tax). For
those who don't know, the shirts are "golf" style and are white with a small
dark blue PAMS logo. They'll be available at the next meeting if you want to
look and/or purchase. Checks should be made out to "Steve Smutz".
Dues
It
is very important that all members pay their dues. We use these funds to take
guest speakers out to dinner, provide refreshments at meetings, purchase awards
for the Science and Engineering Fair in the spring, and print programs for the
Mini-Technical Conference. If you are unsure whether your dues are up to date,
please drop an email to
smutzsw@dhec.sc.gov to check your
status.
Mini-Tech Conference
It's not too early to start
thinking about potential presentations for this meeting to be held during the 1st
quarter of 2004. As many of you know, the Mini-tech is a way for members,
students or others in the community to share knowledge gained about virtually
any topic related to meteorology in an informal setting. A call for abstracts
will follow later this year or early in 2004.
Email Update
In an effort to
keep our member and general mailing lists current, please send your updates to
the secretary at any time. Also, please send along name/email of anyone you
know who would like to begin receiving chapter meeting notices and newsletters.
Thanks!
