February (2011) Snow Storms

March 2, 2011
by Tyree Wilde

Feb 22-24 storm:
A cold upper level trough of low pressure moved into the Pacific Northwest during the latter part of February time and ushered very cold air into the Pacific Northwest.  A surface low pressure system developed near Vancouver Island on the evening of February 22 and dropped southward along the BC/WA/OR coast on Wed and Thur, Feb 23-24.  This pattern was conducive for producing low elevation snow across northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. Listed below are the snow totals for this storm.
