Thoughts from Chapter President Bobby Corser

When we look at the weather in general in this part of the country, it's somewhat easy to define which season we are in. If it's a nice day in the mid 60's and the flowers are blooming, it's clear we are in spring.

The current forecast is calling for snow in low elevations in early March. One question, did I miss something? Didn't we make the change into spring meteorologically speaking? I know with El NiƱo, the weather gets a little strange, but this just a bit weird. I'm all for snow in the mountains, where it belongs. I even like snow on the valley floor, but not in spring. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Speaking if winter, please mark your calendars for March 16th. The March Oregon AMS meeting is a winter recap. Mark Nelsen, KPTV chief met and Charles "Chucky D" Dalton will take a look back at what was an interesting winter. The meeting is being held at the KPTV studios. We will kick it off at 7pm. All the details are posted on the meetings section of this website!

I look forward to seeing everyone there!
