WCTV Channel 6, the local CBS affiliate in the Tallahassee region, held
a series of four Hurricane Town Meetings in June and July 2006 across the Big Bend & South Georgia area.

The first of these meetings was held Friday, June 9th at the
Carrabelle Meeting Facility on U.S. Highway 98 in Carrabelle, FL at 7pm.
The second meeting in the series was held in Perry, FL on Friday, June
16th at 7pm, immediately after Tropical Storm Alberto impacted the region.
The third meeting occurred on Friday, June 16th at 7pm in Thomasville,
GA at The Plaza Restaurant. The final event was held at the
WCTV Studios in Tallahassee, FL on Saturday, July 15th.
Supporting materials from those events may be found in the links above. The Tallahassee event served as "Community Weather Day" and also featured
demonstrations and outreach efforts, similar to
the FSU Dept. of Meteorology's efforts at WeatherFest in Atlanta in January 2006.
