Jessica Fieux - 2007-2008 Past President

Jessica Fieux is a second year graduate student working under the direction of Dr. Paul Reasor at The Florida State University. Her research involves editing reflectivity and velocity radar data from multiple hurricane hunter flights. This data will then be compiled to show the 3-D structure of winds within the tropical cyclone. The goal with this data is to develop a dual Doppler database consisting of edited data from multiple tropical cyclones. From this, she will focus on a multi-case study of the observed structure of tropical cyclones, with an emphasis on vortex structure and vertical shear. Jessica graduated summa cum laude from The Florida State University in Spring 2006 with a Bachelor's of Science in Meteorology. As an undergraduate, she participated in multiple directed individual studies with Dr. Krishnamurti involving tropical cyclones and the Saharan Air Layer. During her undergraduate time, she was also a SCEP with the National Weather Service in Ruskin, FL.

Jessica has been a member of the North Florida chapter of the American Meteorological Society since 2002. She was President of the chapter from 2006 to 2007 and served on the Science and Education Committee during the 2005-2006 chapter year.
