Jessica Fieux is a first year graduate student working under the direction of Dr. Paul Reasor at Florida State
University. Her research involves editing reflectivity and velocity radar data from multiple hurricane hunter
flights. This data will then be compiled to show the 3-D structure of winds within the eyewall of a tropical
cyclone.
Jessica graduated from Florida State University in Spring 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology. As
an undergraduate, she participated in multiple directed individual studies with Dr. Krishnamurti involving
tropical cyclones and the Saharan Air Layer. During her undergraduate time, she was also a SCEP with the
National Weather Service in Ruskin, FL.
Jessica has been a member of the North Florida chapter of the American Meteorological Society since 2002. This
past year, she was member of the Science and Education Committee in which she helped middle school students
prepare for the meteorology/climatology part of the Science Olympiad.
