Jeff Wood - 2002-2003 Vice-President

Jeff Wood was born in Miami in October, 1981. After graduating high school in Miami, Jeff attended Florida State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology in Spring, 2003. During his time as an undergraduate, Jeff worked as an undergraduate research for Dr. T.N. Krishnamurti. His work with Dr. Krishnamurti on TRMM detection of cloud ice in hurricanes garnered him the 2002 AMS Father Macelwane Award for Undergraduate Research. In addition, Jeff also worked as a teaching assistant and as a summer hire with the National Weather Service in Juneau and Fairbanks, Alaska for two summers.

Mr. Wood is currently a graduate student in the Department of Geography at Florida State University where he is earning his M.S. degree under Dr. James Elsner; his research focus is hurricane climate and landfalling Florida hurricanes. Jeff will be graduating and getting married in December and plans on pursuing a career in the National Weather Service.
