Clark Evans - 2002-2003 Past President, Science & Education Committee Chair

Clark Evans is a graduate meteorology student at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL under the supervision of Dr. Bob Hart and previously funded through an AMS Graduate Fellowship. In 2006-07, he will be entering the PhD program at FSU. His M.S. thesis, "Dynamical Evolution of the Wind Field Expansion During Extratropical Transition," will be presented in Summer 2006.

He previously completed research as an undergraduate under Dr. Xiaolei Zou on the application of GPS meteorological occultation data to clouds and inversions in 2003-2004, which resulted in his winning the AMS' Father James B. Macelwane Research Award for 2005, as well as an internship with the Florida Climate Center in summer 2004. He graduated magna cum laude from Florida State (B.S., Meteorology) in spring 2004.

Clark served as the Secretary of the North Florida Chapter of the AMS from 2002-03, as President from 2003-04, and as the Past President and Science and Education Committee Chair of the chapter in 2004-05. He hails from Asheville, NC by way of Orlando, FL, where his family resides today. His interests include hurricanes, sports, music, and nature.
