To keep updated on events and happenings within the chapter, we encourage you to be added to our e-mail list by sending us a quick message to northflams@gmail.com. This is a good way to get involved and become a member.  We also encourage those on the Facebook social networking site to join the "North Florida Chapter of the AMS" group for additional networking possibilities and for use as another information medium about chapter happenings!

Though it is not required for membership in the North Florida Chapter, we encourage membership in the American Meteorological Society, please download the appropriate membership application from their website. The benefits are great and it is quite affordable, with discounts for current students.  Don't forget to fill in your local chapter affiliation!

Recent Chapter Highlights

April 14, 2009 - The chapter held its final meeting of the 2008-2009 year.

March 31, 2009 - The chapter held its March 2009 meeting. Minutes will be posted soon.

February 24, 2008 - The chapter held its annual banquet with guest speaker, Brian Norcross.

January 20, 2009 - The chapeter held its first meeting of 2009.

January 16, 2008 - "WeatherFest!" presented by the National Weather Service Tallahassee and
The Florida State University Department of Meteorology was a total success.

November 18, 2008 - The chapter held its fourth chapter meeting of the year.

November 8, 2007 - The Best Ball Classic III Golf Tournament was held at Don Veller Seminole Golf Course in Tallahassee, Florida.

October 21, 2008 - The chapter held its thirdchapter meeting of the year.

October 18, 2008 - The chapter participated in the Cub Scout Family Day in Quincy, FL.

September 23, 2008- The chapter had its second meeting of the 2008-09 chapter year. Dr. Henry Fuelberg spoke about his current research with Air Pollution.

September 20, 2008 - The chapter took part in Shining our Shores @ Lake Leon (Tom Brown Park).

September 2, 2008 - The chapter held a successful first meetingof the 2008-09 chapter year. Many exciting and productive events are planned.

February 28, 2008 - The North Florida Chapter recently held its Fifth Annual Chapter Banquet with many awards given out and a presentation from guest speaker Dr. Steve Lyons. For more information, please see the meeting report.

November 4, 2007 - The Best Ball Classic II Golf Tournament was held at Don Veller Seminole Golf Course in Tallahassee, Florida.  Many great prizes were spread among twenty-six golfers.

May 29, 2007 - With help from chapter members, Florida State University was given the StormReady approval from the National Weather Service. Read more about the story on FSU.com.
