Day 3 is a professional meteorology symposium in partnership with the Carneige Science Center, the Southwest Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Meteorlogical Society and the Department of Earth Sciences at California University of Pennsylvania. Fall Colloquium Came to a Close with Brian Persons

The Fall Colloquium came to a close with our final speaker Brian Persons. Mr. Persons is the Executive Director for the Naval Systems Engineering Directorate and Chief Technology Officer for the Naval Sea Systems Command. Light the Night Walk at Heinz Field

The Meteorology Club attended the Light the Night Walk at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA. The walk serves as a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The evening consists of many activities before the walk including free souveniers and food. Following the walk, a fireworks show was presented to the participants. The Meteorology club attended their annual Pittsburgh Pirates Game on Friday, September 28, 2007. The night consisted of College Night as well as Fireworks Night to wrap-up their 2007 season.




Fall Colloquium Series Begins

The Fall 2007 Colloquium series began on Friday, September, 21, 2007 with Mr. Bryan Hughes from KGAN in Cedar Rapids, IA. Bryan presented on "Broadcast Meteorology and Forecasting - A Midwestern Perspective." He provided a great talk with audience participation as well.

The Cal U Weather Center issues forecasts for the Southwest Pennsylvania region Monday through Friday during the academic year.  Forecasts will not be updated during holidays and university breaks.  During severe weather events the Cal U Weather Center will issue special weather statements.
